Work with Angus

About

I live in Glasgow, Scotland. My work takes me across the UK and internationally.
I’ve been doing this work for around fifteen years. Before that I spent twenty years in technology, much of it in the nonprofit sector.
Working in technology taught me something that has stayed with me. We often pay close attention to the task and much less attention to the relationships around it. I’ve rarely seen good work come from paying attention to only one of them.
That’s where my work has been ever since.
I’m a certified Co-Active coach and a certified Organisation and Relationship Systems Coach (ORSC). I’m currently completing a diploma in coaching supervision with the Coaching Supervision Academy, and I’m a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).
Experience
We were referred by a partner and liked the straight answers. They helped us stabilize scheduling, fill last-minute gaps, and keep deliveries on time during peak season. Now we reach out before problems snowball

Coaching
I work one-to-one with people.
Some of the people I work with lead organisations. They use our sessions as a regular place to talk through whatever is on their plate: decisions they’re weighing up, people, direction, and their own leadership. It’s confidential, and it’s time that belongs to them.
Others come through their work: a new role, their own development, wanting to grow their confidence or become more effective at leading, managing or communicating. Others come because work has become stressful or overwhelming, and they want help finding a way through. Some bring something more personal: a change they’ve been putting off, a feeling they can’t quite make sense of, or something difficult that has happened and needs time and attention.
“Angus brings huge emotional intelligence to his work, noticing what is said and unsaid, and responding with care, sensitivity and quiet wisdom which has also spread to support other areas of my life, improving my relationship and confidence.”
Liz
Before any of it begins, we’ll talk. Not a session—just a proper conversation about what you want attending to, and whether working together feels right. Rather than one-off sessions, we’ll usually commit to a series: time enough not to rush, to understand what’s really going on, to try things out between sessions, and to bring back what happened.
In every case, the work is the same: a conversation that creates movement.

Facilitating Teams and Gatherings
I work with groups—teams, leadership groups, whole organisations, or several organisations gathered together—helping them find their way to somewhere they couldn’t get to on their own.
That might be team coaching: working with a team or senior leadership group over a series of sessions to help them understand one another better and work well together on what they’re there to do.
Or it might be designing and facilitating a meeting or gathering. An away day for a team or a whole organisation. Or a larger international gathering, where several organisations come together to work on a shared strategy or explore what they could do jointly that none of them could do alone.
“Through thoughtful questions and well judged challenge, Angus helped me refocus on my values, understand my sense of purpose and start feeling excited about my career again.”
Chris
Most of this work happens before anyone enters the room.
If thirty people are travelling from around the world, the way to respect them is to put them to work on the right thing. So we’ll spend real time understanding why the gathering is happening, what would be different if it succeeded, and finding the simplest, clearest question for the group to work on.
Only then do I design the day: a structure that gives people enough shape to do good work while leaving room for what happens on the day.

Supervision
From autumn 2026 I’ll be offering coaching supervision — a regular reflective space for coaches and facilitators to step back and think about their work, their clients, and themselves.
I came to supervision as a practitioner first. After years of doing this work I wanted somewhere to keep my own practice fresh and to keep evolving. I realised how valuable it was to bring my work to someone who understood the realities of practice because they were doing it too.
Supervision is different from coaching in that way. Rather than working towards a goal you’ve chosen, you bring the work itself and explore it together with a fellow practitioner.
I’m completing my diploma with the Coaching Supervision Academy and will be taking on supervisees from autumn 2026.

Working with Angus… was a really positive experience at a time when I needed support and a fresh perspective. I had lost my confidence, motivation and sense of direction, but he gave me the space to reflect and reconnect with what really mattered to me. He also helped me understand how I had reached that point in the first place, which gave me an insight into the patterns and choices that had shaped my situation.
Through thoughtful questions and well judged challenge, Angus helped me refocus on my values, understand my sense of purpose and start feeling excited about my career again. I came away from our sessions with much more understanding and direction. The work we did together has shaped the career (and life!) choices I have made since and given me the confidence to make them with real purpose.
Client Name
We worked with Angus to plan an annual organisation-wide team day. The process was thoughtful and collaborative, with Angus leading us through three highly reflective and conversational sessions to work iteratively towards a final agenda. Angus sought to really tease out the intricacies of where we were as an organisation to design a day that celebrated success and looked towards the future. We appreciated Angus’s openness, his candour and his humour.
On the day itself, Angus’s approach meant our colleagues felt empowered to speak openly, and his sense for and ability to adapt to the prevailing energy in the room is a brilliant and understated skill.

I discovered Angus through a friend as I needed help as I was experiencing profound grief following the death of my father. He understood exactly where I was and from the start of our coaching either online or in person he gently supported me encouraging me to reconnect with joy, purpose and intention.
Each session with Angus has real purpose and during our work he constantly checks in to ensure he’s delivering what you want or need.
Angus is gentle with your feelings, instinctive in his thoughts, and naturally himself, his wonderful sense of humour brings lightness, humanity and perspective and he has a knack of bringing it in at exactly the right time.
He understands that questions, feelings and difficulties do not always arise neatly within scheduled sessions. Being able to communicate with him between sessions is hugely helpful.
Angus brings huge emotional intelligence to his work, noticing what is said and unsaid, and responding with care, sensitivity and quiet wisdom which has also spread to support other areas of my life, improving my relationship and confidence.
I have been able to build my courage to make changes and am far braver with his support to grow a life which for me is driven by my values. Angus guided me to define these for myself.
Angus has changed my life profoundly for the better.
